BANYAN HOUSE

The Nurmi Isles are among the most iconic and sought-after residential enclaves in Fort Lauderdale, with their unique layout offering direct access to the Rio Barcelona Canal—a popular route for kayakers and paddle boarders. Situated on a 12,000-square-foot waterfront lot, the Banyan Residence was designed around a majestic, decades-old Banyan tree that became the central inspiration for the home’s layout and spatial flow. The 6,500-square-foot contemporary residence was designed by Squadra Design Consultants, with Studio Mc+G leading the development of architectural visualizations and construction documents. The design harmonizes indoor and outdoor living, allowing the natural surroundings to shape both form and function. Rooted in the site’s lush environment, the home creates a tranquil and immersive living experience that celebrates the connection between architecture and nature.
